Spike Strips Used To Stop Fleeing Robbery Car: Forsyth Sheriff

Spike strips were deployed to stop a car carrying 3 armed robbery suspects. One was arrested and 2 are still at large, according to police.

CUMMING, GA A 17-year-old man has been arrested and two are still wanted after an armed robbery at the Shell Station at 4740 Jot Em Down Road at 9:15 p.m. Monday, according the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The name of the 17-year-old in custody has not been released.

A lookout was posted and deputies were able to find the sedan traveling southbound on Ga. 400. A traffic stop was attempted on the sedan and the vehicle fled. Spike Strips were deployed and the sedan came to a stop on GA 400 near Majors Road. All three men ran on foot and one was apprehended quickly by a deputy and his K9. The other two men ran into the woods.

The 17 year-old man is in custody and two firearms were recovered by FCSO as well as other evidence.

FCSO Detectives from Major Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation and additional arrests are forthcoming. The suspects are believed to have escaped the Forsyth County area.
