Students at Carrington Academy Windermere in Cumming Hold Recycling Fundraisers in Celebration of Earth Day

Students collected and recycled soda can tabs, electronics and shoes in support of Ronald McDonald House and the American Cancer Society

In celebration of Earth Day, students at Carrington Academy Windermere in Cumming held several recycling fundraisers throughout April. Students collected 25 pounds of soda can tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia, which will help pay the utility bills at the organization's facilities. Carrington Academy collected more than 100 pairs of gently used shoes for Community Recycling's ShoeBox Recycling program and earned an $80 donation for the school's Relay for Life team. Students also collected e-recyclables, including old toner cartridges, cell phones and more for Planet Green to earn additional donations for their Relay for Life team. Carrington Academy raises $1,200 annually for their Relay for Life team and the American Cancer Society.
