βI am humbled and honored to have been selected as a finalist for Georgiaβs Superintendent of the Year,β shared Dr. Bearden. βThis is, yet further validation of the great work that happens every day in FCS. I share this honor with every employee in our great school system. Nothing happens in isolation. Our entire family focuses every day on taking great care of our communityβs most precious resource, our children. This is my 7th year serving FCS and I look forward with eternal hope and optimism of the great work still to come. I would remiss if I did not thank our entire community for their tremendous support of our school system. We are successful because home, school, and community work as partners. We will continue to do just that.β
According to GSSA, each finalist has been singled out for their leadership abilities and their excellent skill set in working with their boards, staff, and local communities.
