Suspended Principal Back to School Monday
Lambert High Principal Gary Davison missed a week after offensive Facebook posts came to light.

CUMMING, GA -- Lambert High School Principal Gary Davison returned to work Monday after being placed on leave over a week for making inappropriate Facebook posts.
“Dr. Davison has apologized for his mistakes and is fully committed to regaining the community’s trust,” Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Jeff Bearden said in a news release. “I firmly believe he has learned from this experience and is committed to ensuring a positive culture and climate for all students that attend Lambert.”
Bearden placed Davison on leave Thursday, January 28, after Facebook posts by Davison came to light that members of the school’s community considered anti-Muslim and derogatory toward minorities.

Most of the posts were considered by critics to be anti-Muslim. Published reports say they called Islam a violent religion and included an article from Gov. Nathan Deal’s office calling for Georgia to stop accepting Syrian refugees.
Others were critical of gays and lesbians, Planned Parenthood, and transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner.

“Please know that every student at Lambert is very important to me,” Davison said in a statement released by the school system. “I appreciate all that Mrs. Bibik, the administrative team, teachers and staff have done for the school during my leave of absence. I pledge to each of you to further support the students of Lambert.”
Assistant Principal Pam Bibik served as acting principal in Davison’s absence.
