Teen Killed, Baby Snatched In Thanksgiving Shooting (ICYMI)

Forsyth County deputies say a juvenile shot an 18 year old in the attack, then ran away with his two-week-old son.

CUMMING, GA — A Forsyth County juvenile is under arrest after sheriff's deputies say he shot and killed an 18 year old on Thursday, then fled the scene after snatching his two-week-old son.

The shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving at a house on Wondering Way in southeast Forsyth County. Deputies were called and arrived to find DreLandon Brown, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies gave him first-aid and he was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators say the shooter was identified by people at the scene. After shooting Brown, he took his two-week-old son and ran away, according to sheriff's deputies. They say the child's mother lives at the Wondering Way home.

Deputies created a perimeter around the area and the juvenile was found within minutes by deputies. He complied with officers and put the child safely on the ground when they found him, sheriff's office spokesman Dep. Doug Rainwater said.

Rainwater said investigators returned to the neighborhood early Friday morning and, with the help of K9 units, found what is believed to be the murder weapon near another home.
