Toddler Critical After Forsyth Near-Drowning

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when the three year old was playing in the pool at Riverstone Plantation.

CUMMING, GA — A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a neighborhood pool in north Forsyth County on Saturday.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverstone Plantation subdivision, off of Jot Em Down Road, said fire department division Chief Jason Shivers.

When rescue personnel arrived, the boy had already been removed from the pool and CPR was in progress.

The boy, who suffered respiratory injuries, was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth in critical, life-threatening condition, Shivers said. Authorities were not releasing the child's name Monday because of his age.
