Truck Stolen, Shotgun Fired In Forsyth Burglaries
The sheriff's office thinks the same suspect broke into two occupied homes in the Chestatee area early Wednesday morning.

CUMMING, GA — Two occupied homes in northeast Forsyth County were broken into earlier this week by a burglar who ended up stealing a truck at one of them.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said the burglaries happened between 3-5 a.m. Wednesday in the Chestatee area. In both cases, the residents of the homes woke up and confronted the burglar.
During the last burglary, sheriff's deputies say the burglar stole a Chevrolet Tahoe. The homeowner fired a shotgun in the direction of the burglar, according to the sheriff's office.

The stolen truck was recovered soon after the theft at War Hill Park near Dawson County.
The sheriff's office described the burglaries as "a rare occurrence in Forsyth County." The burglar is described as a youthful, thin male of unknown race.

The sheriff's office said deputies are increasing patrols in the area and detectives are following leads in the case.
"Please be aware of your surroundings and make sure to keep the doors locked in your homes and vehicles," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "This is great advice any time of the year."
