The annual celebration is organized by the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild and benefits its members while highlighting Georgia’s craft beer industry.
Cherry Street Founder Nick Tanner told Patch that Georgia Beer Day is in support of the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild as a primary yearly fundraiser that helps change laws and protect the local craft beer industry.

"By purchasing the specially designed annual glass at a brewery, or multiple breweries, you are directly helping support our industry," Tanner told Patch. "Currently, there is a bill to increase the volume of beer purchased at a brewery and allow for charitable contributions. There are always changes and improvements needed."
This year, 70 breweries across the state are participating and will be selling a limited edition 16 oz. pint glass, with $1 of proceeds going toward the guild.
Designed by artist Ali Lamoureux, the theme of the 2022 commemorative glass is, “From the Blue Ridge Mountains to Driftwood Beach,” which highlights two of the most recognizable Georgia landscapes.
