Two Forsyth Middle Schools Earn "Highest-Performing" Honors

Little Mill and Otwell middle schools are in the top five percent in performance statewide during the last three years.

A pair of Forsyth County middle schools have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Reward Schools due to their consistent excellent performance on statewide assessments.

According to Forsyth County Schools, Otwell Middle School and Little Mill Middle School earned the designation of Title I ”Highest-Performing Schools,” a subset of the Reward Schools category, for their stellar track record. Both schools have placed in the top five percent in assessment scores for the “all students” category during the last three yearly assessments.

“The staff and students of Little Mill Middle School are proud to be recognized again as a Title 1 Reward School!” said Principal Connie McCrary in a statement. “We set high expectations for ourselves and it is an honor to be amongst the top five percent of all Title schools in the state. We thank our amazing parents and community for their continued support.”

In a statement, Otwell Middle School Principal Steve Miller said, “We are excited that the hard work and efforts by our teachers and students are being recognized. This is the result of persistence, focus, and dedication to the process of learning with all of our stakeholders. It is a combined effort on behalf of our teachers, students and parents that we are being recognized. Thank you to everyone that plays a role in our success.”
