Volunteers Needed For Mock Interviews With Forsyth Students

CUMMING, GA — Each year, thousands of Forsyth County high school juniors and seniors participate in community-led mock interviews through their third-year career pathway course or through their participation in Internship Forsyth or Mentorship Forsyth. This event is community-driven, as volunteers from across the county spend time creating an experience that will expose students to what is expected in a job interview, while providing constructive feedback on all aspects of the interview process.

The experience also allows students immediate verbal and written feedback from the business community regarding their interview performance, resume, cover letter, and professional dress. Thanks to support from the Forsyth County Chamber and the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth County, all seven high schools participate in this experience.

The county is now actively seeking volunteers from the business community.

Would you be able to volunteer?

Students are looking forward to this opportunity as they experience how to search, prepare, and apply for a job. The district is searching for interviewers from the business community and would appreciate any help in finding qualified interviewers. Interviewers do not have to have interviewing experience, as the county will make sure they are supported and have a script to follow.

If possible, interviewers are asked to sign up in half to full day increments. The interview for each student will be 15-20 minutes in length and geared toward their career pathway. Additionally, any employer ready to hire students may use this opportunity to actually conduct "live" interviews.
