  1. Are you registered to vote for the Nov. 8 election? Well, the deadline to register is Oct. 11. Forsyth County residents can register by mail, in person or online. For online registration, visit this link. To register in person, residents can visit any Forsyth County library or the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office, 1201 Sawnee Drive. To register by mail, a Voter Registration Application must be filled out and postmarked by the deadline or delivered in person to the Elections Office. (Subscription: Forsyth County News)
  2. Pinecrest Academy has been recognized as a 2023 Best School by Niche.com.   3. Don your lederhosen and come to Alpharetta Avalon for an Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 8. The event will be from 5-8 p.m. Its main street will be turned into a beer hall, featuring outdoor games and pop-up stations from some of the community's restaurants. Tickets are $15, which includes an Oktoberfest stein. Proceeds will benefit the Wills Park Equestrian Foundation. (Awesome Alpharetta)

  • If you need help, get it! A new mental health hotline is now active. You can now call or text 988 to reach the Suicide Prevention Hotline and get the care you need 24/7. You can also visit 988lifeline.org/chat to chat with a caring counselor. This shortcut is not replacing the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) but will serve as an easy alternative for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.
