Here are the top stories in and around Cumming today:

  1. By a margin of 385 votes out of nearly 100,000, Forsyth County voters rejected a one-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. According to election results, 49,681 voters said yes but 50,066 voters said no to the Transportation Special Purpose Local Operation Sales Tax (TSPLOST), which would have been payable by anyone spending money in Forsyth County. 2. Come have a beer, relax and feel at home. Renovations are underway for NoFo Brew Co. and Distillery's Gainesville location with an estimated open date of April 2023. The 18,000-square-foot warehouse is less than a mile walk from downtown Gainesville square and sits adjacent to the Midland Greenway. The new location will have a brewery and distillery as well as a fenced in patio, firepit and member's lounge just like the Cumming location. There will be a restaurant as well, but a tenant has yet to be named. (Yahoo! Voices)
  3. Ready for a cocktail crawl? Stroll through downtown Alpharetta while sipping on some of the best cocktails at some of the best neighborhood bars and restaurants from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 during Alpharetta's Fall Cocktail Crawl. Parking is limited so participants are encouraged to use rideshare or be dropped off at City Eats Kitchen. (Eventbrite)
