What's Open and Closed in Forsyth County For New Year's 2017
Here are the New Year's hours for government offices and other popular destinations during the holiday weekend.

CUMMING, GA — Many government offices and other services, both public and private, will be closed in the coming days for the New Year's celebration.
New Year's Eve is Saturday and New Year's Day is Sunday, with many places extending the break through Monday.
- All Forsyth County government offices will be closed Monday, January 2, in observance of New Year's Day.
- Forsyth County public library branches will be closed Sunday, January 1. They will re-open, however, on Monday, beginning at 10 a.m.
- Forsyth County's animal shelter will be closed on Monday, as will its three recycling centers and its three Senior Services locations.
- Forsyth County public schools students will return to class on Thursday, January 5. Wednesday is a work day for teachers and staff.
- Georgia state offices will be closed Monday, January 2.
- Most Kroger and Publix grocery stores will remain open through the New Year's holiday. Most Aldi stores will close for New Year's Day on Sunday. Trader Joe's stores will close at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve and be closed New Year's Day. Whole Foods Markets look to be open through the holiday.
- Mall of Georgia will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on New Year's Eve and noon-6 p.m. on New Year's Day. Regular hours at the Collection at Forsyth are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. on Sunday, but some individual retailers may be keeping different hours through the holiday, so best to check ahead of time.
