The woman, who was under water for 10-15 minutes, was in critical condition Thursday, authorities say.

GAINESVILLE, GA — A woman is in critical condition after nearly drowning while swimming in Lake Lanier Wednesday night.
Maribel Juarez-Navarrete, 21, was under water for 10-15 minutes before rescuers were able to get to her, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office. Deputies and fire services rescuers were called at about 8 p.m. Wednesday to an area of the lake near Watauga Drive, said sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Scott Ware.
Ware said Juarez-Navarrete had been swimming in the lake when she went under and did not resurface. A friend who was with her called 911.
