Work on Walmart in North Forsyth To Begin Soon
The project's zoning was approved by county commissioners in 2003, but the supercenter has been delayed since then.
CUMMING, GA -- After years of waiting, construction on a Walmart supercenter in north Forsyth County could be starting soon.
Tom Brown, Forsyth County's director of planning and community development, told the Forsyth County News that the mega-retailer has been approved for building and site development on 45 acres at 3555 Browns Bridge Road, just west of Ga. 400.
A Walmart spokesperson told the paper in an email that construction is set to begin this summer, with an opening date scheduled for spring 2017.

The county approved zoning for the Walmart way back in 2003. But plans were delayed due to a shaky economy.
The county commission in August approved installing a traffic signal at the entrance to the site.

The exact size and features of the supercenter have not been announced.
