The Saturday fire, reported around 8:15 p.m., started on a side of the residence and spread into some areas of the house.
On Sunday, firefighters were dispatched at 6:44 p.m. to the same house, where they found the house fully involved in flames. The fire destroyed the house and caused thermal damage to the exteriors of the neighboring houses. Two families were displaced.
No one was home during each of the incidents, the fire department said.
Barrett told the Gwinnett Daily Post the unusual fires were still under investigation as of Tuesday.
