Efstration Appointed to Pair of State Legal Boards

Rep. Chuck Efstration is a Republican from Dacula.

DACULA, GA — Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed Rep. Chuck Efstration to a pair of law-related state boards.

Efstration was appointed to both the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice Reform and the Judicial Nominating Commission.

Created by the legislature in 2013, the 15-member justice reform council is charged with conducting periodic reviews of criminal laws and procedure, as well as sentencing laws, prison management and other related issues.

The Judicial Nominating Commission reviews applicants and recommends candidates to fill judicial vacancies within the state, superior and appellate courts in Georgia.

"It is a remarkable honor to be appointed to the Council on Criminal Justice Reform and the Judicial Nominating Commission, and I thank Governor Deal for entrusting me with these appointments," Efstration said in a news release. "I am eager to join my colleagues on both the JNC and the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice Reform and look forward to working diligently to accomplish the issues that will come before each of these boards."

Efstration, a Republican from Dacula, represents the 104th District in the Georgia House of Representatives.

He is an attorney at The Efstration Law Firm, PC, a former prosecutor and president of the Gwinnett Bar Association.

He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Mercer University.
