Gwinnett County Property Taxes Are Due Soon
Find out how and where you can make your property tax payment and where to go if you have questions about your bill.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — If you own property in Gwinnett County and haven't paid this year's taxes yet, time is running out.
Tax Commissioner Richard Steele is reminding property owners that 2017 tax bills are due next Sunday, Oct. 15. Taxpayers may make a single payment or partial payments, but the total is due by the 15th.
For the first time this year, Gwinnett taxpayers may make their payment in advance. They can do so by going to their property-tax account page at the Gwinnett tax commissioner's website.

They may also sign up for paperless billing at the site.
For property owners with escrow accounts, Steele said, tax information is available to mortgage companies. But he said it is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner to make sure the taxes are paid on time. If you have questions about who should pay your property taxes, you should contact your mortgage company directly, Steele said.

If you sold your property this year, you and the new owner both will receive copies of the 2017 tax bill. Documents signed at closing will determine who pays the taxes.
Here are the ways Gwinnett property owners can make a payment:
- Pay online by check, credit or debit card at the tax commissioner's website. Check payments are free. Debit card cost a $3.95 flat fee and credit cards carry a 2.29-percent service fee.
- Mail check payments to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
- Pay by check using drop boxes 24 hours a day at all Gwinnett tag offices.
