Gwinnett Man Gets Jail Time for Selling Fake Insurance Policies
Ronald Alan Dunn was sentenced in Walton County for his role in scheme with his wife to keep insurance premiums.

A Loganville man was sentenced last week for defrauding local businesses by selling bogus insurance policies.
Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens announced in a Jan. 30 news release that Ronald Alan Dunn, 56, of Loganville, was sentenced in Walton County Superior Court to five years in prison and 20 years of supervised probation for his role in the scheme with his wife, Cynthia Dunn.
He also was ordered to pay restitution of $29,459.64 to his victims.

Dunn was arrested in May, 2014 and charged with 17 counts of insurance fraud, two counts of forgery and one count of selling insurance without a license, the insurance commissioner’s news release stated.

Dunn and his insurance-agent wife were accused of defrauding three local businesses that were seeking worker’s compensation and general liability insurance. Prosecutors said the couple kept premium payments and led their clients on to believe they had legitimate insurance.
To complete the ruse, the couple allegedly created fake insurance certificates for the clients.
Cynthia Dunn also has been indicted in the case and awaits trial, the news release stated.
