Man Accused In Fish Food-Cocaine Deal Murder Set For Trial

Quindarius Keshun Morton, of Dacula, killed a man after trying to sell him cocaine cut with fish food, prosecutors say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Dacula man charged with murder in a cocaine deal gone bad is set to go to trial next week.

Gwinnett County prosecutors say trial in Superior Court for Quindarius Keshun Morton has been scheduled. He faces charges of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police accuse Morton of shooting Reginald Bien-Aime, 22, of Buford, after trying to sell him cocaine cut with fish food. The shooting happened outside Buford's Reserve at Ivy Creek Apartments on New Year's Day in 2015.

Morton turned himself in to police days later.

Morton's attorney has argued that he shot Bien-Aime in self-defense and that he was only a passenger in the car from which the drug deal went down.

The case will be heard by Superior Court Judge Randy Rich and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sabrina Nizam.
