Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:

  1. The Gwinnett County Police Department has released the identity of the individual that was stabbed during a jewelry theft atthe Mall of Georgia Macy's store on Friday. Jose Reyes-Serrato, 27, stabbed Macy's employee David Walker, 55. The police shot Reyes-Serrato when he fled from his car. Both individuals are recovering at a local hospital. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Today at 10:00 a.m., the Dacula branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library will be holding its next Drive Through Food Pantry event. The pantry is offered in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and offers each vehicle a package of produce and shelf-stable items. This event is first-come, first-served and will only be held until supplies run out, so if you'd like a package of food items, arrive at 265 Dacula Road as early as possible.   3. No Labor Day weekend fatalities have been reported for roadways in Gwinnett County. The state had a total of 11 fatalities as of 6:00 a.m. yesterday. Last year, the state had the same amount. Labor Day typically marks the end of summer travel in the United States. State troopers and local police departments increased visibility during the weekend while cracking down on impaired driving.
