Worried about your loved one? The holidays make some issues more obvious. This is what you need to know!
The holidays are stressful. Often our loved ones are able to hide their memory loss, but during a busy time it becomes more obvious.

The holidays can be a special time for families. Unfortunately, it can also be a stressful time. The additional scents, decorations, and visits from family can cause a loved one with memory loss distress.. Those with memory problems thrive on routine, and the holidays definitely change our routine. Often, seeing your family member face-to-face makes you realize there have been changes and they may not only know that, but be afraid that you will notice the decline. Pay attention to tell-tale signs that your loved one needs more attention.
1. Cleanliness. Is there a smell of urine? Is there old food in the refrigerator that could cause illness if ingested? Are there stacks of papers and mail indicating they are getting overwhelmed and perhaps not paying bills?
2. Is the home in good repair? If they are not caring for the home they may not be caring for themselves either. Is there damage on their car indicating unreported accidents?
