The Art Place in Marietta is hosting the first annual clay conference, T.A.P. Into Clay, on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 9 am to 5 pm. Come join us for a fun day of pottery, celebrating local ceramic artists. Your registration fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon presentations, and one lunch demonstration. In addition to the presentations, there will be raffles, vendors, opportunities to meet other clay enthusiasts and a chance to purchase pieces by these local artists.
Decatur Artist, John Roberts will headline one of the afternoon presentations. Enjoy watching him demo his craft and get insight into his creative process. John has been a ceramic artist for over 17 years. He is currently the Project Coordinator for the Ceramics Department at Chastain Arts Center, in Atlanta, GA. John has exhibited his work in many shows, regionally and nationally including “Perspectives” in Watkinsville, GA, “Fired Works” in Macon, GA, exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Georgia, and The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. Hand builders and wheel potters will enjoy this time with these artists learning from their techniques and spark new ideas! Also featured is Decatur Artist, Barry Gregg. Lunchtime demo artists include Ann Rafferty, Deanna Rafferty, Kristin Smith and Adrienne Lynch. Price before June 2nd, $75 for the day includes lunch, day of registration $90.
