Voting has begun for the 4th Annual Smart Telecommunicator Awards, and one of Decatur’s own needs your help to take home top honors.

Jeremy Pickett, a 911 operator with the City of Decatur, has been nominated for the 2015 Smart Telecommunicator of the Year award, The Decatur Minute reports. Pickett is the only finalist from Georgia and is facing competition from Kentucky, Florida, and the Carolinas in the Southeast Region.

“In my entire career, he is the best we have ever had and over 100 emergency personnel will back this nomination,” Pickett’s nominator wrote, according to the Decatur Minute.
