• Metro Atlanta city hires firm to manage homelessness task force (wsbtv.com) — Decatur's City Commission has hired consulting firm MIG for about $109,000 to manage the city's 30-member Task Force on Homelessness over the next 11 months. The firm will organize meetings, interview members and partners, and deliver policy recommendations and an implementation framework, shaping how the city responds to homelessness and allocates its separate $125,000 task force budget.

• Groundbreaking ceremony takes place for new fire station (thechampionnewspaper.com) — DeKalb County has broken ground on a new Fire Station No. 16 on Eastside Drive in Decatur, a $10 million facility designed to improve emergency response for nearby neighborhoods. The two-story station will feature modern health and safety upgrades, individual sleeping quarters, a community multipurpose room, and all-gender facilities, with construction now underway on a multi‑year schedule.

• Agnes Scott receives surprise $1 million Delta grant (decaturish.com) — Agnes Scott College in Decatur has received a surprise $1 million grant from The Delta Air Lines Foundation to expand its Summit Global Journeys program for first-year students. The gift, announced during the Women's Global Leadership Conference on the Decatur campus, will help fund international study trips and reinforces the college's nationally ranked innovation and study-abroad offerings that draw visitors and prestige to the local community.
