Georgia native and country-music superstar Jennifer Nettles is teaming up with General Mills and other partners to feed the hungry.

7 Charged in Murder of Lottery Winner Who Begged for His Life
Seven people planning to steal the nearly half-million dollars a Georgia forklift operator won in a lottery game have been charged with gunning him down as he begged for his life, authorities said. Craigory Burch Jr., 20, died Jan. 21 of gunshot wounds he suffered in his own home. »»»Read more.

Northside Hospital Named Georgia's No. 1 Employer
- Northside Hospital is the No. 1 employer in Georgia, leading 14 other Georgia-based in the newly released 2016 Forbes survey of America's Best Employers. The Atlanta-based health care leader company ranks 18th overall in the national list.
- At least five people, three of them children, were rescued by firefighters from an early-morning apartment fire in Stone Mountain. Twelve adults and 11 children were displaced by Tuesday’s fire, which damaged eight apartment units, according to the Red Cross.
Mom Helps Police Nab Alleged Kroger Purse Snatcher
- Police arrested a suspect in a purse-snatching at a Lawrenceville Kroger, after his own mother turned him in. An image of the suspect, later found to be a 15-year-old, shown on local news caught mom’s eye and she turned him in to police, authorities said.
- On opening day, Jeff Francoeur will be an Atlanta Brave once again. The one-time Braves phenom, Gwinnett County native and Parkview High alum learned Tuesday that the Braves had purchased his Major League contract, meaning he'll be part of the club's 25-man opening-day roster.
