5 Rescued From DeKalb Fire That Displaced Dozens

The apartment fire happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday in Stone Mountain.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA -- At least five people, three of them children, were rescued by firefighters from an early-morning apartment fire in Stone Mountain.

The fire happened around 4 a.m. at Terra Creek Apartments, at 4900 Central Dr., WSB-TV is reporting.

Twelve adults and 11 children were displaced by the fire, which damaged eight apartment units, according to the Red Cross.

Two of the rescued children were taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, the station reported.

Investigators were still trying to determine the cause of the blaze Tuesday morning.
