Officials excited about economic impact (courierheraldtoday.com) — Dublin has landed the 2028 Diamond Youth Baseball World Series for 10U and 12U teams, a two-week tournament expected to pump more than $2 million into the local economy. Games at Southern Pines will bring 72 teams and their families to town, filling hotels, restaurants, shops, and showcasing the hospitality and attractions Dublin and Laurens County have to offer.

Neighbors and city crews worked quickly to clear debris and help clean up, while leaders plan more than $2 million in drainage and stormwater upgrades using data from this storm.
   

• New Dublin High band director bringing energy to halftime show (courierheraldtoday.com) — Dublin High’s new band director, Antonio Williams, is gearing up a roughly 70-member Fighting Irish band to bring more energy and movement to football halftime shows. After years of visiting Dublin for parades, he’s now using band camp to introduce his style, revive classics like Michael Jackson tunes, and build a fresh, crowd-hyping sound for the Shamrock Bowl.
