- Our local Georgia Gwinnett College has been awarded with a $249K chemistry faculty grant from a national foundation. This will help improve the chemistry department for students who attend the school. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)This article is behind a paywall.
- Gwinnett County cyclist, Dan Miller, made a 67-day, 4,000-mile bike ride from Washington State to Maine in an effort to raise money for Rainbow Village. He raised more than $30K for the Duluth non-profit that helps people in need. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- This week, police are investigating another social media threat that was made by a Mill Creek High School student who threatened other students with physical violence via Snapchat. Even though the principal had no substantial evidence that the post was made, he did employ more security on campus on Thursday to keep the campus as safe as possible. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Aurora Theatre is offering a preview of its new home a block away from the Lawrenceville town center this week. This location has been highly anticipated, as it solidifies the partnership between the Aurora Theater and the City of Lawrenceville. The first performance in the theater will be in late November, but it is offering a VIP first look tonight and tomorrow to let the locals have a sneak peek at what is to come. - Northside Hospital Gwinnett is preparing to double the size of its Emergency Department. The local hospital also has received its anticipated approval to build a new 10-story patient tower that will be located in Northside Gwinnett's campus. (On Common Ground News)
