Help Identify Jones Family Photograph
The Duluth Historical Society needs your help identifying people in a photograph from 1900.
In almost any archives collection, there are photographs where not every person is identified. One or two people may be known, but the other individuals in the picture may be a mystery.
The image we are featuring this week is of a group photograph. We know that it is the Golden Anniversary of Col. C. M. Jones taken on February 20, 1900. While Col. C. M. Jones is known, we are not sure of the identities of the others in the photograph.

Could they all be family, or are some of them friends who have come to the house to celebrate? There is an older gentleman with a white beard standing by himself on the porch. Did he serve in the military with Col. Jones? In addition, the blurry children in the background prove that children, no matter what the era, do not want to sit still for a photograph.
If you are familiar with some of these faces, or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you. If you would like to see the photograph in person, please visit the Duluth Historical Society at the Strickland House at 2956 Buford Hwy. We are open Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, contact the Duluth Historical Society at duluthhistorical@gmail.com or visit our website.
