The Fear of Diversity

Fear is a powerful motivator which can be disguised. Out of fear, people have stood and debated many an issue over the years -- voicing one noble reason or the other to cover the fear that is their true motivation. A good debater can actually even fool themselves into believing that what they’re saying is their true motivation. Politicians do it all the time. 

Why would we petition to attend a school outside our city limits and almost twice the distance away with gas prices what they are? Why do we propose SPLOST for the building of more classrooms when classrooms sit empty within our city limits – and, our school system is already budget challenged?

Please don’t be afraid to embrace the community in which you live. Are we attempting to mask our fear with something nobler? Why not take a step of faith instead? This is an awesome community – with a rich history. What will we do with the future? Fight in fear or work together in faith?
