Collision Scam Used For Armed Carjacking, Suspects Sought
A collision scam was used to stop a woman in her car and then an armed man threatened her and stole the vehicle, police say.

DULUTH, GA – The Gwinnett Police Department need the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a carjacking April 28, shortly before 2 a.m., according to police.
A woman was exiting from Interstate 85 South onto Duluth Highway in unincorporated Duluth. She was rear ended by a black pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150. The driver of the truck approached the victim after the collision, and, he pointed a gun to her head making contact. He demanded that she get out of the car. When she did, he grabbed her purse and threw it away from her car. The man then drove away in the woman’s car and the black truck followed him away from the scene with an unidentified driver.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged man, over six feet tall, short dark brown beard, wearing all black clothing, and a black baseball hat. The woman’s car is a 2013 black Honda Accord bearing Georgia tag “RDN 8622.” It was last seen traveling south on Interstate 85.
