Here are the top stories in Duluth today:
- During the month of October, the Bill Atkinson Animal Welfare Center will be hosting free adoptions for any dog over 25 pounds. If you are looking for a new furry friend, head on over to receive the newest member of your family. https://patch.com/georgia/dacu...
- According to the Gwinnett County fire department, there are multiple people and children residing in Vita Apartments that are exhibiting symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. Multiple children were held in the hospital with non-life threatening symptoms. The investigation into what happened is underway. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
- A new recycling option for some hard-to-recycle items in Gwinnett County is beginning on Friday. Residents must put the items in their designated orange bags. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- The last pep rally that was held at Mill Creek High School didn't follow the Gwinnett school district's mask policy. Many people were seen either incorrectly wearing their masks, or not wearing their masks at all. The county is using this as a teaching moment moving forward. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A driver was arrested on Sunday morning for a DUI following a crash on Buford Highway in Duluth. The crash left the other driver with very serious injuries. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
