Here are the top 3 stories in Duluth today:
- Matt Reeves has announced his run for the Georgia House District 99 seat. Reeves claims he will fight for Gwinnett County's taxpayers, school parents, law enforcement, and the cities in the Republican majority Georgia State House. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- Are you interested in being a vendor at City of Duluth events in 2022? Attend one of the City's upcoming virtual vendor interest meetings. Interested vendors are required to attend one of its two Zoom meetings (Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. or Feb 3 at 4 p.m.), during which they will receive the list of 2022 events, vendor requirements, and information on how to apply. Prospective vendors with questions may contact the City's events team at events@duluthga.net. (City of Duluth)
- The Duluth Police Department recently announced that, during the entire year of 2021, it issued 1,100 citations to drivers who violated the Georgia Hands-Free law. This represents a 12 percent decrease in citations for this law compared to 2020. The statewide law took effect in 2018 and stipulates that drivers "cannot have a phone in their hand or touching any part of their body while talking on their phone while driving." (Facebook)
