Gwinnett Police Seek Man, Woman Wanted for Credit Card Fraud

They allegedly used a stolen credit card number to buy pre-paid credit cards at Sam's Club.

Gwinnett Police are looking for a man and a woman suspected in connection with credit card fraud activity in Georgia and North Carolina.

Police released surveillance camera images of the suspects, who allegedly used a stolen credit card number to purchase $4,000 in pre-paid credit cards at the Sam’s Club on Steve Reynolds Boulevard on Oct. 19, 2014. Police said they cloned the card number onto another card.

“The Sam’s Club membership account used to make purchases at the store contained false information,” Gwinnett Police Cpl. Jake Smith said in a news release. “The same membership account was used to purchase over $15,000 in pre-paid cards over a three month period in Georgia and North Carolina.”

Smith said detectives tracked activity from the fraudulently obtained pre-paid cards to Charlotte and Greenville, N.C.

“Detectives believe the original suspects are selling the cards to third parties, who are in turn using the cards for normal purchases at various locations,” he said.
