Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. On Tuesday night at Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson's panel of citizens, Gwinnett transportation officials requested a budget of over $3 million because they would like to add six new bus routes and a microtransit station in Snellvile. Changes to bus routes would potentially include a line that goes from Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth all the way to the Mall of Georgia in Buford. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. The Lionheart Theatre in our neighbor city, Norcross, puts on an amazing musical every other season. This season, it will be performing the classic musical, "Nunsense," starting on September 10 and lasting until the 26th. The theater recommends you buy tickets in advance because of the overwhelming popularity already seen. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  3. Six Gwinnett County schools have received nearly $50,000 in science and tech grants for showing commitment and passion towards the subject. Two local schools, Osborne Middle School and Paul Duke STEM were among the six who won. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Gwinnett County Solicitor General Brian Whiteside is currently trying to stop Georgia's new voting law by filing a complaint with the U.S. District Court citing Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and members of the State Election Board. Whiteside has already garnered controversy over this move, but he stands tall in his opinion saying that it is unconstitutional and unenforceable to make it illegal to hand out food and water at voting polls. (WSB Radio)
  5. The Meadowcreek Mustangs are at home up against unbeaten Lambert High School this week in high school football. Last season, Lambert won this game 28-30, but the Mustangs are hoping to score high points tonight to stay in the lead. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
