  1. Duluth Police Department discovered an illegal gambling operation at a gas station. They received a tip that the business was paying cash to people who were playing gambling machines inside the gas station. After executing a search warrant on Jan. 11, police arrested an employee on one count of commercial gambling. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
  2. Pedestrian walkway and water drainage improvements are planned in western Gwinnett County. The county entered an $835,148 contract with Sol Construction LLC to carry out these projects on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Holcomb Bridge Road, and Pond Road. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  3. The Atlanta Model Train and Railroadiana Show in Duluth is happening today, Saturday, Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will have over 300 tables representing dealers from all over the nation with model items and antiques for sale.   • Sheriff Keybo Taylor joined with officials from the City of Snellville, the Gwinnett County Public Library, and the Gwinnett County Commissioners to celebrate the groundbreaking for The Grove at Towne Center on Wisteria Drive. This 22,000 square foot educational space will replace the Elizabeth Williams Library Branch that is currently on Lenora Church Road. (Facebook)
  • Gwinnett County Public Library presents "Good Night Gwinnett: Bird Hugs." Help your child get to sleep with a story and a song! Families can enjoy a bedtime story and song together with us before going to sleep every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. (Instagram)
