Improvements Coming to Buford Hwy + Thayer Method at GGC

Happy Wednesday, people of Duluth! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening around town today.

First, today's weather: Humid and partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 90 Low: 70.


Here are the top stories today in Duluth:

  1. Gwinnett County DOT has approved some road improvement projects near Buford Highway that will expand a crossroad into a four lane road with a sidewalk and left turn lane. This is expected to help lighten up traffic on the north end of Buford Highway. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. Georgia Gwinnett College professor of Chemistry, David Purcell, has decided to use the Thayer Method, an active learning technique in order to engage his students during pandemic. His thought is to get local students more involved in the curriculum after they spent a whole year in online classes. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Our neighbors at Suwanee City Hall are hosting a vaccine clinic this week on August 26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. You do not need an appointment or insurance to be eligible for a dose of the vaccine. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
