New Gwinnett Police Chief Named + Threats Aimed At Judge

- J.D. McClure will be replacing Brett West, Gwinnett County's police chief of 30 years. McClure is making history as Gwinnett County's first Black police chief. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A Gwinnett County man, Micquel Deandre Gay, has been arrested for threats against a judge. Gay threatened to shoot the judge and other court employees in a 24- minute long video that was livestreamed. The threats are thought to be real and valid since the was in the possession of a firearm when this happened. (WSB Atlanta)
- Gwinnett County 4th-grader, Gabriel Jackson, is currently recovering from an open heart surgery due to a heart defect that he was born with. Through it all, Gabriel has remained positive, hoping to influence kids of all ages at his hospital. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The assistant principal at the GIVE Center West, Alex Robson, has published book about freedom that features quotes from celebrities, friends, and even some quotes from the Capitol riot that happened on January 6. The proceeds from this book will all be donated to scholarships for students, grants for teachers, and other funding opportunities for his school.(Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Fire crews were met with intense heat while working to extinguish a Gwinnett townhome fire that happened on Saturday. The fire started from a grill on someone's patio. No one was injured. Two pets were saved and put on oxygen and one cat is still missing. (11Alive.com WXIA)
