• Couple forgives driver who allegedly killed unborn son in high-speed crash (fox5atlanta.com) — A Duluth man faces feticide and reckless driving charges after police say he crashed into a couple's car on Satellite Boulevard near Duluth at 94 mph, killing their unborn son and leaving the mother with severe injuries. The couple, now relying on community donations during a long recovery, say their faith has led them to forgive the driver despite their loss.
   

• Gas South Arena begins $175M renovation project, including new parking deck (roughdraftatlanta.com) — A major $175 million upgrade is underway at Duluth's Gas South Arena and surrounding district, bringing a new 1,000-space parking deck and upgraded premium seating by early 2028. Residents can expect improved accessibility, faster concessions, and enhanced digital displays designed to make concerts, games, and other events more comfortable and convenient for local visitors.
   

• Storms bring down trees, knock out power to 50K in metro Atlanta (fox5atlanta.com) — Strong Saturday storms swept through metro Atlanta, triggering severe thunderstorm warnings that specifically included Duluth and other nearby communities. More than 50,000 customers across the region lost power as trees and lines came down, and utilities have not yet given a clear timetable for full restoration or clearing all blocked roads.
