Welcome back, Duluth! Here's everything you need to know to get this Tuesday started off right.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 66 Low: 42.

Here are the top stories today in Duluth:

  1. On Wednesday, Gwinnett County Commissioners are going to start hosting an open house series on the redistricting of the county. The District 1 Open House will be held from 6:30 -8 p.m. Wednesday at the Duluth Branch Library, 3180 Main Street. This is an amazing opportunity for all residents to lay their eyes on the redistricting maps and provide their input. (Duluth Patch)
  2. A 69-year-old Lawrenceville woman was struck by a car while she was in her front yard. She said she was standing in her driveway, getting ready to walk her dog, when the car sped up and jumped the curb on Buttercup Trail in the Brandywine subdivision. The unknown driver is still at large. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Gwinnett County's two-week COVID-19 cases ratio is finally showing numbers that are consistently below 100 new cases per 100,000 residents! However, we still have a way to go before that ratio gets to be low as it was in early July, when new cases reported were below 50 cases per 100,000 residents over a two-week period. In all, Gwinnett saw a total of 864 new cases reported during the two-week period leading up to last Friday. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  4. This weekend, loved ones had a chance to say goodbye one last time to Lawrenceville student, Timothy Barnes Jr., who was killed at bus stop earlier this month. The 16-year-old was a student at Central Gwinnett High School and was shot in the head on November 3 while waiting for the school bus. His friend, 17-year-old Serar Shakiib Abdi, was arrested in connection to the crime. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
  5. Former first grade teacher, Alexandra Morales', boyfriend is now held in custody after she was found dead in Mexico last week. Mexican authorities told Univision Atlanta that her boyfriend, Fidel Barragan, was taken into custody this past weekend for his alleged involvement in Morales' murder. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
