🌱 Body Found In Lake Lanier + Lilburn Literacy Receives Grant

Here are the top five stories in Duluth today:
- Partnership Gwinnett is currently accepting nominations for the Movers & Makers Awards. Winners will be announced 8 to 10 a.m. April 21 at Crowne Plaza 6050 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Norcross. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A man's body was found in our nearest Georgia lake after officials spent days searching for him. James Dunn Lindsey of Cumming fell into Lake Lanier while working on his boat Thursday. His body was found Sunday with sonar and retrieved by a remotely operated vehicle. (WRDW-TV)
- Johns Creek has approved to build two new single-family detached homes on Wilson Road. The 0.76-acre property sits northeast of the intersection of Medlock Bridge Road. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Lilburn Elementary School has received a $50K literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The money will be used to implement a literacy initiative created by Dr. Valerie Dickey, the school's media specialist. Her "Awesome Audio Books" initiative calls for the purchase of popular book titles with English and bilingual text on audio to create a listening library within the media center. Readers will be able to use the resources at school during independent reading time and/or Guided Reading, as well as at home. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- Seven Gwinnett County schools are going to compete for state musical theater awards. Buford High School, Grayson High School, Greater Atlanta Christian School, Lanier High School, Mountain View High School, Providence Christian Academy and Wesleyan School will compete in The Shuler Awards, which will be held April 21 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The awards were presented virtually last year. Fulton County leads the entries with 10 schools, Gwinnett is second with seven and Cobb next with six schools. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
