Garden City Alderwoman Natalyn Morris is pushing for a similar overpass on Highway 21, but GDOT warns growing Port of Savannah rail traffic could worsen delays before any local fix arrives. 
• Red Cross urges blood donations after June supply drops 25%. What donors should know (wjcl.com) — Garden City residents are being asked to help ease a 25% blood supply drop by donating at a local Red Cross drive on July 17 at Empowerment Center Garden City. With demand rising and hurricane season underway, officials warn continued shortages could eventually force hospitals to delay some elective surgeries across Coastal Georgia.
• Port of Savannah-linked corridor to streamline flow of goods (supplychaindive.com) — A new $126 million Brampton Road Connector is opening to give trucks a direct four-lane route between I-16 and the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal, pulling heavy traffic out of nearby neighborhoods. The project caps nearly $600 million in road upgrades, including major work on Jimmy Deloach Parkway and Grange Road that improve access between the terminal, I-16 and I-95.
