• Garden City police seek hit-and-run driver after pedestrian seriously injured (wjcl.com) — Garden City police are asking residents for help after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run Thursday morning on Augusta Road near Big Hill Road. Investigators want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or has information about the vehicle or driver, and tips can be shared directly with Garden City Police or anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
   

• Second Harvest to host drive-thru food pantry in Garden City (wtoc.com) — A drive-thru mobile food pantry is coming to Groves High School in Garden City on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 to 10 a.m., serving about 500 Chatham County households. Second Harvest’s “Stock the Block” event will offer fresh produce, protein, and pantry staples on a first-come, first-served basis, with residents asked to stay in their cars while volunteers load food.
   

• Sheriff names 18 gangs he says are operating in the Savannah area, and where they are located (wjcl.com) — Chatham County’s sheriff has publicly named 18 gangs law enforcement believes are operating around Savannah, including one group reportedly based in Garden City and linked to the city’s west side. While no specific arrests were announced, the sheriff warned these groups to stop their activities and outlined various neighborhood affiliations across the county to highlight where authorities are focusing attention.
