Police seek suspect accused of stealing $999 computer from Walmart (wsbtv.com) — Griffin police are asking residents to help identify a man accused of stealing a $999 Dell all-in-one computer from the North Expressway Walmart on Sept. 13. Investigators say he left on a dark green bicycle toward West McIntosh Road and possibly behind Sunnyside Pediatrics, and they’re urging anyone with tips to contact Investigator Hoard.
   

2. Kemp commends Spalding County Fire Chief Byrd for leadership and service (griffindailynews.com) — Spalding County Fire Chief Mike Byrd, whose family has deep ties to Griffin schools, has been formally commended by Governor Brian Kemp for his statewide leadership of the Georgia State Firefighters Association. His work helped pass a new law allowing veteran firefighters to keep working while drawing pension benefits, strengthening experience and mentorship in departments across Georgia.
   

3. Jim Webb's Middle Georgia Live Music Report (10/5-10/11) (middlegatimes.com) — Griffin music fans have a big show coming Saturday night, when Skynfolks brings its Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute to the Griffin Opera House at 8 p.m. for a ticketed performance.
