📰 News we're reading
• Spalding agrees to request changes to GDOT intersection plans (griffindailynews.com) — Spalding County commissioners meeting in Griffin agreed to ask GDOT to scrap a planned four-lane roundabout at State Route 16 and Wild Plum Road in favor of a cheaper traffic signal. Officials argue a red light would save millions and better match current traffic needs while still improving safety at this key industrial park intersection.

• Doc Holliday Festival both fun and educational for visitors (griffindailynews.com) — Griffin’s Doc Holliday Festival brought Wild West reenactments, barbecue competitions, and family-friendly activities to City Park despite some rain. Visitors learned about Griffin native Doc Holliday and other Southern figures of the American West, browsed arts and crafts, sampled food trucks, and voted for their favorite barbecue teams in the state-designated Georgia State Brisket Championship.
