Two Great Dad's!

Well, I was going to write two separate blogs about two of the great men in my life, but I decided since we can’t have one without the other I would make it into one nice post. Plus, my life is crazy and I’m running out of time to get this out by Father’s Day. lol

First, I’ll start with my Father-in-Law, Virgil, without him I wouldn’t have the greatest husband and father to my son that I have.
Virgil Tucker is a quiet, kind man who never says anything negative or unkind about anyone. Virgil, like my Dad, is a great listener. He has a gentle way about him that is never boastful or unruly about anything. He was a great husband to my Mother-in-Law, Gwen and they lived in the same house the majority of their married lives. They attended church regularly with their four children and raised them up to be the kind of people they were. Big hearted, giving and never boastful. Virgil just turned 90 years old this year and we’re counting on him to a least live to 100, if not more.

Without Virgil’s loving way of raising his children, I would not have the wonderful husband and father Alan is to me and Trey. Alan is much kinder and gentler to Trey than I could ever be. He has an extremely strong and giving heart and has taken care of me for 24 years and Trey for 16 years. He is the hardest working man I know. He goes to work at a job, well let’s just say, he doesn’t like very much. His job is one of the most physically grueling jobs you can imagine and working a split shift does not help any. Yet he goes everyday without fail or much complaint and makes a good life for us all to live.

Alan has coached Trey in football and several other sports since Trey was six and he loved every minute of it. Not only was he a great coach for Trey, but also was a great coach and father figure to many other kids throughout the years. He coached tough, but with the kind heart of a gentle man. The kids knew where they stood with Alan and he loved each one in his own way.

These last two Father’s Day posts are a tribute to the greatest men in my life and I love them all deeply. I can only pray that Trey will be a great father just like his Dad and both of his GrandDad’s. And I have a good suspicion with the upbringing he’s been given with these wonderful men, I know he will.
