Jordan Weems, 10, led a group of Bradshaw Farm Barracuda swimmers that competed in the Class A State Swimming Championships over the weekend. The meet, sponsored by the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association, was held in Carrollton.
Jordan finished second in the Girls 9-10 25 Yard Backstroke and third in the Girls 9-10 100 Yard Individual Medley.
Brittni Hoover, 14, was part of the team from Cherokee County that finished third in the Girls 14 and Under 200 Yard Medley Relay. She was also on the team that finished 6th in the Girls 14 & Under 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Brittni came in eighth in the Girls 13-14 50 Yard Backstroke and 12th in the Girls 13-14 100 Yard Freestyle events.
In the Girls 14 & Under 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, 14-year-old Hannah Palmer was part of the Cherokee County team that came in 12th.
Austin Yearout, 8, swam in four events in the statewide meet. He came in 13th in the Boys 7-8 25 Yard Backstroke, 18th in the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle. He was also in the Cherokee County Relay teams that finished 15th in the Boys 100-Yard Medley Relay and 18th in the Boys 7-8 100-Yard Freestyle Relay.
