#BePaws-itive: Cherokee Charter's Community of Compassion
CCA Principal Dr. Scott O'Prey says, "We are shaping a culture of respect and positive attitudes towards all."
With a pep rally that included a motivational address from a Kennesaw State University football coach and a rallying cry from KSU cheerleaders, Cherokee Charter Academy launched a new “kindness campaign” for its Tiger students and the community at large.
“With the ‘Be Pawsitive’ campaign, we want to instill a community of compassion. Instead of focusing on negative behaviors, we want to promote the good that all of our students possess.” says Kerry Patterson, Cherokee Charter Academy’s guidance counselor.
Students took a pledge to Be-Pawsitive at Cherokee Charter, use kind words with classmates, teachers & friends to help support Pawsitive feelings and support the idea that together we are more and together we are better.
