Civics Lesson Under the Gold Dome
Cherokee Charter Academy is the county's first and only public charter school. Serving students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade, CCA plans to add 9th grade in 2013-2014.
Students at Canton's Cherokee Charter Academy learned firsthand how a bill becomes a law when they spent the day at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.
They got to see both the House and Senate in session and learned the ropes from Senator Brandon Beach & Representatives Calvin Hill, Scot Turner and Mandy Ballinger. Eager students also experienced life under the Gold Dome with interns and a lobbyist and learned what a page does and how to become one.
