I Have an Obsessive Admiration for Local Entrepreneurs
The first time I visited, I noticed the University of Georgia diploma on the wall. Like. And Dr. Jen has a humble competence about her which reminds me of my own baby sister Jennifer.
We need a fence.
Last fall, we moved from to a home a couple of miles away. Our objective was to downsize a little bit, simplify things and have more land for the boys to play. And even though ours is only an acre, there are 43 acres of horses behind and to the right of us, acres of cows across the street, and I am pretty sure there are chickens far to the left of us.

Our black lab “Gypsy” is pretty good about staying in our yard but every now and then she disappears--- for about ten minutes. came over last month and said the people to the left with the chickens are complaining. I felt horribly!
Since that day, we’ve been especially careful with Gypsy. But, I turned my back on her yesterday for only a second; and the little rip disappeared again. When she finally returned she was soaking wet and filthy.

I just spring cleaned the whole house, so I was pissed. Am I allowed to say "pissed" on Patch? I thought about calling animal control to take her to jail for a day and teach her a lesson! But instead, I called Persimmon Creek Animal Hospital down the road and begged if they would let me bring her in right now for a bath. And they said, ‘Yes!”
I found Persimmon Creek as soon as we moved here. It’s only a couple of miles from our home and it has that “this-place-is-really-cute” feel to it. It’s housed in a big red barn on Union Hill Road behind Avery Elementary.

Being a marketer, I notice things like the appropriateness of the signage, the font used in the logo, the look of the business card, the brochures, the ambiance of the waiting area, the cleanliness of things. And, Persimmon Creek Animal Hospital gets an A+ for branding, Southern hospitality and genuine service.
I have an obsessive admiration for local entrepreneurs, small business owners--like Dr Jen, who built Persimmon Creek Animal Hospital right down the road from me. These are the people who make this community great.
